2009 Annual Report, Chapter 35 Department of Social Protection One Parent Family Payments
The management of One Parent Family Payment claims in two local offices was examined. The main aims of the examination were to verify, based on examination of a random sample of OPFP cases, that the payments made were correct and conformed to the scheme conditions, to assess if the controls over OPFP are adequate, given the nature of the scheme, and that they are being applied as intended and to confirm that where payments in excess of OPFP entitlements are detected, they are recorded as overpayment debts and are recovered to the maximum extent possible.
