This is a report on the evaluation of the management and accountability structures in place to oversee the development of MediaLab Europe and the Multimedia Village and compliance with agreements concluded between the different participants in the project, a review of the level of State funding and the measures and agreements in place to protect the State’s interest, a review of the procedures employed in the acquisition and management of property and to establish whether adequate procedures were in place, and were complied with to ensure that payments were correct and properly authorised.

This is a report on the Schools IT 2000 Programme, to evaluate the method chosen to channel grants, examine the procedures in use in schools for the procurement of computer equipment, confirm that equipment and software acquired with grant assistance is in place in schools, establish that purchases made by schools comply with the specifications laid down by NCTE and to establish that the grants paid were properly accounted for.

This examination considered how four Government Departments and two State Agencies have organised and managed Year 2000 compliance work. It also looked at how three Departments are monitoring the efforts of bodies under their aegis to achieve compliance.

Bord Fáilte (BFÉ) has been involved with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) since 1990 in a joint project to develop a computer-based tourist information and reservation system. The system - called Gulliver - has been developed within the two tourist board organisations by staff members and external consultants.
