Management of Personal Data

The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (the Office) has been given a statutory right of access to data and information to support the discharge of its audit function and ensure that the C&AG’s reports to Dáil Éireann are factual, accurate and complete. 

A description of the Office’s policies in relation to the proper use and the safeguarding of personal data is contained in a Statement on the Management of Personal Data which has been circulated to all audited bodies.

The Data Protection Commissioner completed a report on data security practices in the Office in January 2009. The report incorporates a summary of the actions taken and proposed to improve the security of personal data in the Office.
