When the Comptroller and Auditor General has finalised a Value for Money or Special Report it is presented to the relevant Minister to arrange for it to be laid before the Oireachtas. The report must be laid before the Oireachtas within three months of the date it was presented to the Minister
  • Administration and Collection of Motor Tax

    The Comptroller and Auditor General has carried out an examination on the administration and collection of motor tax.  The report is the result of a coordinated examination by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General and the Local Government Audit Service.  The report was sent to the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government on 12 January 2017.  Under the provisions of the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1993, the Minister is required to present the report to Dáil Éireann within three months of the date on which the report was submitted to him.

  • Cost of Child Abuse Inquiry and Redress

    The Comptroller and Auditor General has carried out an examination on the cost of the child abuse inquiry and redress. The report has been sent to the Minister for the Education and Skills on 9 January 2017, who under the provisions of the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1993, is required to present the report to Dáil Éireann within three months of the date on which the report was submitted to him. 

  • Financial Reporting in the Public Sector

    The Comptroller and Auditor General has completed an examination on financial reporting in the public sector.  The report was sent to the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform on 20 December 2016.  Under the provisions of the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act 1993, the Minister is required to present the report to Dáil Éireann within three months of the date on which the report was submitted to him.
